Pre-Care
To ensure the best results and minimize the risk of bruising or irritation at Faster Aesthetics, following these pre-care steps is essential. Proper preparation helps your provider achieve the most precise outcome and ensures your skin is ready to heal beautifully.
Pre-Treatment Guide: How to Prepare
General Guidelines (All Services)
Avoid Blood Thinners: For 7 days prior to any injectable or microneedling treatment, avoid aspirin, ibuprofen (Advil/Motrin), naproxen (Aleve), and supplements like Vitamin E, Ginkgo Biloba, and high-dose Fish Oil. These increase the risk of bruising.
No Alcohol: Avoid alcoholic beverages for at least 24–48 hours before your appointment to minimize swelling and bruising.
Hydrate: Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your visit. Well-hydrated skin responds better to treatments like Skinvive and Morpheus8.
Arrive Clean: Please come to your appointment with a "fresh face"—free of makeup, heavy creams, or sunscreens in the treatment area.
For Injectables (Botox, Fillers, Skinvive, Sculptra)
Plan Your Calendar: Schedule your injections at least 2 weeks before any major event (weddings, vacations, or photo shoots) to allow any potential bruising or swelling to fully resolve.
Arnica Supplementation: Consider taking Arnica Montana (available over-the-counter) 2 days before your appointment to help reduce post-injection bruising.
Cold Sores: If you are prone to cold sores and are receiving lip filler, please notify us in advance so we can provide or recommend a prophylactic antiviral.
For Energy-Based Treatments (Morpheus8 & Lumecca)
Sun Protection is Key: Avoid direct sun exposure and tanning beds for 4 weeks prior to treatment. We cannot treat sunburned or heavily tanned skin, as it increases the risk of pigment changes.
Discontinue Retinoids: Stop using Retin-A, Tretinoin, or any high-strength Retinol/Alpha-Hydroxy Acids (AHAs) 3–5 days before your session to prevent excessive sensitivity.
No Self-Tanners: Ensure all sunless tanning lotions or sprays have completely faded from the treatment area.
4. For Laser Hair Removal (InMode Fusion)
Shave the Area: Shave the treatment area 12–24 hours before your appointment. The laser needs to target the follicle beneath the skin, not the hair above it.
No Plucking or Waxing: Do not wax, pluck, or use hair removal creams for 4 weeks prior. The hair follicle must be intact for the laser to be effective.
Avoid Deodorant/Lotions: On the day of treatment, keep the area free of deodorants, lotions, and oils.
Quick Checklist for Appointment Day:
✓ Eat a light meal/snack to prevent lightheadedness.
✓ Remove all jewelry if treating the face or neck.
